Archive

Yesterday we visited temples archive of old pictures, newspapers clippings, and maps of old Philadelphia in the early and late 1900's.there I learned many things. I discovered my neighborhood was existent in 1901. I observe the old layouts of the 1900's. Many of the streets and layouts are still the same today such as many city hall parks and streets. I was also able to compare and contrast the streets of 1901 and the 1980's. Again many of the street names were the same but layout of transportation was newly designed. Many of the pictures seen were of street vendors. There the sold many fresh produce such as fruit. They sold jewelry, belts and other goods. The newspaper clippings were about community gardens.
